Part of Solar's flagship SP C-Tech range, the XL Flat Mat combines a spacious fish handling area with advanced protective features, helping anglers maintain the highest standards of fish care throughout their sessions.

At the heart of the mat is a 50mm high-density foam mattress, providing excellent cushioning to protect carp during unhooking, weighing preparation and photography. Extra-Large XL Fish Care Design

The Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL offers a more generous fish handling area than the Standard version, making it particularly appealing to anglers targeting larger carp.

Having additional space when unhooking and handling fish can make the process more manageable, especially when dealing with powerful specimen carp.

The XL configuration provides a practical solution for anglers who prioritise fish care and prefer a larger protective mat.

50mm High-Density Foam Protection

At the heart of the XL Flat Mat is its substantial 50mm high-density foam mattress.

This thick cushioning provides an excellent protective surface, helping prevent direct contact between the fish and hard or uneven ground.

The high-density construction is designed to offer dependable support during unhooking and other essential fish care procedures.

For anglers targeting larger carp, the combination of generous dimensions and substantial cushioning is a particularly valuable feature.

Robust Padded Sidewalls

The Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL incorporates robust padded sidewalls designed to provide additional protection around the fish.

These protective walls help create a defined fish handling area and reduce the risk of the fish coming into direct contact with surrounding bankside surfaces.

The durable construction also contributes to the mat's longevity, making it suitable for regular use throughout the fishing season.

Fish should always remain fully supervised and supported while on the mat.

Removable Inner Mat – Two Fish Care Options

One of the most versatile features is the removable inner mat, which doubles as a standalone flat unhooking mat.

This allows anglers to choose between using the complete XL mat with padded sidewalls or removing the inner section for a more traditional flat mat setup.

The ability to adapt the mat to different situations provides excellent flexibility, particularly for anglers who regularly fish a variety of venues.

Innovative Fold-Flat Design

Despite its extra-large configuration, the Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL has been designed with convenient transportation in mind.

Its fold-flat construction allows the mat to pack away compactly, helping reduce the space required in your vehicle or on your fishing barrow.

This makes it an excellent option for anglers who want the benefits of a larger protective mat without the inconvenience of transporting a permanently rigid cradle.

Zipped Sidewalls for Quick Setup

The mat features zipped sidewalls, allowing it to transition quickly between its protective setup and compact folded configuration.

This practical system helps make setting up and packing away straightforward.

The zipped construction also plays an important role in achieving the mat's compact fold-flat design.

Reinforced C-Tech Webbing

For additional strength and durability, the XL Flat Mat incorporates reinforced C-Tech webbing throughout.

This reinforcement helps support the overall structure and improves longevity in areas exposed to repeated handling and transportation.

It's a premium construction detail designed to withstand the demands of regular carp fishing.

Dura-Flex Pack-Away Buckles

The mat features premium Dura-Flex pack-away buckles, designed to keep it securely fastened when folded.

These robust buckles help maintain a compact packed configuration, making transportation and storage more convenient.

They're particularly useful when securing the mat alongside other equipment on your fishing barrow.

Quick-Release Shoulder Strap

The included shoulder strap attaches using quick-release clips, providing a convenient hands-free carrying option.

This makes it easier to transport the XL mat alongside your rods, luggage and other essential equipment.

The quick-release design also allows the strap to be detached when not required.

Attachable Dual Carry Handles

Alongside the shoulder strap, the mat features attachable dual carry handles.

These provide an alternative method of transportation, allowing anglers to carry the mat by hand when preferred.

The combination of shoulder strap and carry handles adds useful versatility when moving equipment between swims.

Rubberised Mesh Drainage Base

The rubberised mesh base is designed to provide effective drainage during use.

This is particularly useful when keeping the mat wet for fish care, allowing excess water to drain away rather than accumulating unnecessarily.

The drainage system contributes to a practical bankside fish handling setup.

Premium SP C-Tech Camo Detailing

Finished with distinctive SP C-Tech camo material detailing, the XL Flat Mat complements Solar's premium carp fishing range.

The understated camouflage styling pairs particularly well with matching Solar luggage, bedchairs, chairs and fish care accessories.

Designed for Serious Specimen Carp Anglers

When targeting larger carp, using suitable fish care equipment is essential.

The Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL combines a generous handling area with a substantial foam mattress and protective padded sidewalls, making it particularly well suited to specimen carp fishing.

Always wet the mat thoroughly before use, keep the fish supported and supervised, and return it to the water as quickly and safely as possible.

Why Choose the Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL?

The Solar SP C-Tech Flat Mat | XL is an excellent choice for carp anglers looking for a spacious, protective and highly practical unhooking mat.

Its extra-large XL design provides additional room for handling bigger carp, while the substantial 50mm high-density foam mattress delivers excellent cushioning and protection.

The robust padded sidewalls offer additional fish safety, and the removable inner mat provides the versatility of a standalone flat unhooking mat when required.

Despite its generous size, the innovative fold-flat design, zipped sidewalls and Dura-Flex buckles make transportation and storage convenient.

Combined with reinforced C-Tech webbing, a rubberised mesh drainage base and multiple carrying options, this is a premium fish care solution designed for demanding carp anglers.
