Free Spirit Helical Barbel Rod 12ft 2.50lb 30mm Avon

Using a blend of carbons from Hankook and Toray for the butt and tip section and then wrapping with a helical loop tape finish produces a blank that fulfils the promise of casting and fish playing whilst keeping it light and slim. As with all Free Spirit rods the finish must be cosmetically attractive and different and be free from any paint or lacquer to maintain appearance for many years.

The aim with the Helical Specialist 12ft 2.5lb was to provide anglers with a tool capable of casting large gripper leads to 8oz and big cage feeders needed to hold bottom in heavy river flows. With a test curve of 2.5lb the rod has plenty of backbone, but the Avon top has a sensitive tip for bite detection and will gently nod in the flow to absorb the line pressure and help to prevent the feeder or lead being dislodged. Aimed firmly at the Barbel and Chub anglers who need a powerful rod to combat rivers in full flow.

Built with a full cork handle. DPS style reel seat and black Acetile collars and butt cap. The rod features black framed lined guides with butt and first intermediate guide in twin leg and the rest singles to keep the weight down in the top section. The butt guide is a size 30 down to a size 10 anti-frap tip guide.
