Spomb Spod Bomb Baiting System

Spomb Spod Bomb Baiting System

The Spomb Spod Bomb Baiting System revolutionised the way carp anglers introduce bait at range. Its unique enclosed design allows virtually any suitable bait to be loaded inside and cast accurately without spilling bait during flight, before the Spomb opens on impact with the water for rapid bait release.

Available in Mini, Midi, Midi X and Large sizes, with Black and White colour options, there is a Spomb to suit everything from lighter baiting applications through to delivering larger quantities of bait at serious range.

Unlike conventional open-ended spods, the Spomb remains securely closed throughout the cast. This prevents bait from escaping during flight and helps ensure your complete payload reaches the intended area. On contact with the water, the release mechanism opens the body, allowing the contents to wash out quickly.

Its aerodynamic teardrop-shaped profile provides excellent casting performance with minimal air resistance. Combined with its enclosed design, this makes the Spomb highly effective when accuracy and distance are important, including when casting into difficult wind conditions.

Once open, the Spomb floats and can be retrieved quickly across the surface. A fast, steady retrieve allows it to aquaplane across the water, significantly reducing the resistance associated with retrieving many traditional spod designs while helping prevent spinning and line twist.

Why Choose the Spomb Spod Bomb?

One of the biggest advantages of the Spomb Spod Bomb is its ability to deliver your complete payload to the intended area. Once loaded and closed, the bait remains securely inside during the cast, reducing the bait loss associated with traditional open-ended spods.

On impact with the water, the Spomb opens and releases the bait quickly. This makes it particularly effective when introducing boilies and larger food items, which can sometimes be more difficult to release consistently from conventional spods.

The aerodynamic design also makes the Spomb highly capable when fishing at range. Its streamlined shape helps reduce resistance through the air and provides impressive stability, even when casting in difficult wind conditions.

Once the bait has been released, the open Spomb floats and can be retrieved rapidly across the surface, helping make repeated baiting considerably quicker and less tiring.

How to Use the Spomb

Attach the Spomb securely to your chosen spod setup and hold it with the logo on the body facing upwards.

Press the red release button and hold the Spomb open while loading your chosen bait. Avoid filling the red button section and do not squash or excessively compress the bait inside.

Close the Spomb firmly at the nose before casting. When the Spomb reaches the line clip, allow it to drop naturally into the water. On impact, the body opens and the bait is released.

Retrieve using a fast, steady action. Once open, the Spomb floats and aquaplanes across the surface for a quick and efficient retrieve.

Black or White?

Both colour options provide the same baiting functionality, allowing you to select the version that best suits your fishing.

The White Spomb can provide improved visibility when casting against trees, dark backgrounds or in lower-light conditions, making it easier to follow during the cast.

Why Carp Scene Recommends the Spomb

The Spomb has become an established part of modern carp fishing, providing an accurate and efficient way to introduce bait without unnecessary spill during the cast.

It is particularly effective for boilie fishing, where its fully opening design allows larger baits to be released quickly on impact. Combined with its aerodynamic profile and fast surface retrieve, it provides an efficient solution whether you're introducing a small amount of bait accurately or building a larger feeding area.

For anglers who regularly use a spod rod, the Spomb is an extremely useful addition to the baiting setup.
