Don't let Condensation ruin your Autumn fishing - Top Tips to help reduce it!

This time of year daytime tempertures can differ massively from day and night! Resulting in condensation drip in your Bivvy or Brolly!

So what is Condensation?

Condensation is caused when warm air is combined with cold surfaces, this effect is most prevalent when the warm air inside a tent is conflicted with the outer outside cooler air.

This condensation causes water to then drip the bivvy. Unfortunately, this condensation is just a process that occurs in all Bivvy’s and Brollies when the temperatures inside vs outside the tents are different.

Condensation Drip

Here's a quick time DO's and DONT's to help you stay more comfortable on the bank!

DO's

- Keep your Bivvy ventilated so that humid air can escape.

- Invest in a Groundsheet, Overwrap, Vapour peak, Skull Cap, Tarp. All of these help reduce condensation.

- Store wet clothes or boots in a stuff sack at night.

- Always try to set your bivvy up on dry ground or under tree's.

- Wearing fewer layers will decrease the chances of sweating, resulting in less condensation.

DONT's

- Don't cook on a stove inside your bivvy.

- Don't Store wet clothing or wet waterproofs inside your bivvy.

- Avoid heavy breathing inside your bivvy where possible, sounds silly, but this results in lots of humid air.

- Try not to press your sleeping bag directly against the bivy walls. This transfers heat and can cause more moisture to accumulate on that surface.
