Thurdsays match the water level was 2.5ft down below normal level, not sure why? maybe they are working on the lock gates at Hotwells. Tonights winner was newly retired Dave Clutterbuck with 8lb 0oz of roach and dace on caster and hemp from peg 10, second was Pete Sivell with 6lb 2oz again of roach and dace on caster and hemp from peg 19, 3rd was the young and up and coming Lewis Walker with 5lb of skimmers roach and eels from peg 12. Dave Shore was 4th with 4lb 12oz of roach and eels from unlucky peg 13, 5th was Alan Healey with 3lb 13oz and Merv Sivell was 6th with 2lb 15oz.
Its nice to see that the roach are starting to show again at Baltic Wharf, Dave Clutterbuck went to Baltic on monday and had a cracking day with 17-18lb roach on maggot over caster, only fishing at 5m. Bathurst Basin has also started to produce roach with double figure catches in the past couple of weeks, dont be put off by the somewhat poor match results of these matches, if you are pleasure fishing you will catch a lot more.
If you want to fish these matches ring the shop 0117 9508723 for the latest information
