Bristol Docks Evening Series 13/12/12

1 min read
The docks system has cleared after all the heavy rain of recent, the rivers that feed the docks have gone down and colour dropped out. This weeks cold snap has seen the water go clear, but the fishing remained reasonable for the time of the year.

The clear, cold water has brought about dramatic change of feeding approach, this is the conditions when liquidised bread through the feeder really scores. The visual attraction of the bread is more important in cold clear water whilst the smell of groundbait is more important in coloured water. If you are fishing a clear natural venue at this time of the year, give it a go, skimmers, bream and big roach love it.

Top rod on the night was John Macey with 8lb made up of 3 bream, Alan Healey was second with 7lb 4oz which was 2 bream, Pete Sivell was third with 6lb 8oz of skimmers. Dave Clutterbuck was fourth with 5lb 13oz made up of 4 skimmers and Andy Curry came fifth with 1 bream for 3lb 14oz, Merv Sivell was 6th with 1 skimmer of 1lb 8oz, on the feeder.
