Daiwa has been producing world class reels since the 1960s, but the introduction of Basiairs onto the market launched the brand to new heights. This new model’s rotor has been constructed from Zaion. This is Daiwa’s unique magnesium and carbon mix. Mag Sealing is a technology that was first invented by the scientists at NASA who were looking for a completely leak free way of transporting rocket fuel into space. They came up with innovative magnetic oil sealing technique. Able to adapt to high pressure change, this magnetic oil forms a faultless seal. Daiwa has taken this technology and reversed it. Rather than keeping liquid in, Daiwa have used Mag Sealed technology to keep water, grit, and grime out of the body of your reel.
